Juice N’ Jake Sport Show – Softball & Volleyball

Good morning, Nebraska. It’s a wonderful Wednesday morning here in Grand Island. I was up late collecting some information from my partner over at Nebraska HSSB and NebraskaTok Ambassador Busted Lens to bring you some softball and volleyball coverage.

Grab your beverage of choice. A coffee, pop, tea, juice. Whatever gets you going for the day. I have my juice, and this is Juice N Jake in the morning and helping you get the full squeeze in high school sports around the state. 

Softball Recap

Game 1 Final

Lincoln Southwest defeated Lincoln North Star 14 to 1 several great plays at bat, but Madson Hadley had a bomb to right field, scoring two runs. Alexis Bradley earned the win for Lincoln Southwest Varsity Silver Hawks.

Game 2 Final Lincoln SW defeats Lincoln Northstsr 6 to 3. Lincoln Southwest. A play to call out is when Lincoln Southwest Varsity Silver Hawks scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Mabry Spohn.

Bennington defeats Wahoo. Julissa Hauder collected three hits in four at bats, as Bennington Varsity Badgers defeated Wahoo Varsity Warriors 4-1 on Tuesday. Hauder singled in the seventh inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the first inning.

How about that W train that continues for Central City. The Bison defeat Gothenburg 10 to 1- Jerzie Schindler was dominant on the mound, as the starting pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Central City Varsity Bison’s 10-1 victory over Gothenburg Varsity Swedes on Tuesday. Schindler allowed two hits, and one run over five innings while walking one. Central City Varsity Bison collected 10 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Schindler led Central City Varsity Bison with three hits in three at bats.

Northwest falls to Waverly 6 to 13

1st Place Game- Elkhorn North defeated Milford 15 -2

3rd Place Game- Freeman defeated Malcolm 6 to 5

5th place game- FCEMF defeated centennial 10 to 9

7th place game – Lincoln NW defeated Fairbury 5 to 4

Volleyball Recap

Thayer Central Titans take Set 1 in Fairbury.

Fairbury battled back from being down 12-21, but the Titans put it away,  going up 2-0 with a 25-22 Set 2 W.

Sports ambassador busted lens was at the game and said that this is the loudest this gym has been in recent memory. Fairbury is not going away! Back & Forth 3rd set goes to the Jeffs!

Well! That’s your match, folks! Wow! What a great night of volleyball! Titans are your winners. 3-. Both crowds were LOUD. Titans remain unbeaten on the season.

Cross Country

The Nerdsletter is out. Nerd Senior is heading off to a national park, so we’re releasing the Nerdsletter on Tuesday rather than the normal Wednesday. Will there be a Nerdsletter next week? Probably not unless Nerd the Third has a lot of time on his hands. Jay Slagle recapped the last couple weeks on his Prep Running Nerd Show right before jumping on a plane. That’s dedication!
