Bellevue East versus Norfolk Football

Norfolk (1-0) is taking on Bellevue East (1-0). Bellevue East got the ball first and was moving the ball and picked up a first down on its first couple of plays. Runs by Quarterback (#23) Mason Chandler and (#25) Aj Lucas. The drive would end on an interception and returned to the Chieftain six yard line, but a face mask penalty would move the ball to three yard lines. Norfolk took over, and on the next play (#25), Rawdy Bauer takes it in for his first touchdown of the night.

Bellevue East’s second drive looked promising for points but the thirty-two yard field goal was blocked. Norfolk takes over after the blocked field goal and after a few plays throws an interception. East takes over and starts a drive that could end in points. Unfortunately for East, the first quarter would end the Chieftains would have to convert a third down and one to open the second quarter. Mason Chandler runs up the middle for a gain of three and fumbles, but the referees ruled he was down by contact. A promising drive for points has been set up for East, and the momentum is shifting. A delay of game pushes East back five yards to thirty-two yard line. On the Chieftains’ next play, Chandler throws a touchdown, but there are flags on the play. After a holding penalty and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, the Chieftains backed up past the fifty yard line. The promising drive stalls and East are forced to punt. Norfolk gets the ball and goes on a three and out and punts to East. East gets the ball and goes on a promising drive just before halftime before the drive stalls and East elects to kick a thirty-two yard field goal. Ultimately, it is blocked again.

The score for halftime was Norfolk 7 East 0. On Norfolk’s first drive of the second half scores on a wide open pass to Drew Streich, the point after attempt was wide left. The score is now Norfolk 13 East 0. East has their first offensive series of the second half and picks up a first down, then the offense stalls and punts. Panthers take over and go three and out. Chieftains take over and start a promising drive before Chandler throws an interception. That interception would set up Bauer’s second touchdown of the game.

The score now Norfolk 20 East 0 after three quarters of play. Norfolk would tack on one more score on an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Norfolk 27 East 0 is your final score.
